From heartfelt vows and champagne sprays to the most romantic evening on the dance floor, every part of their day told a story of connection and joy. Getting Ready at the Hotel: Joy, Anticipation, and Connection
The morning started with Hailey surrounded by her closest girlfriends, her daughter Sloane, and her mom. The room buzzed with excitement and emotion a true girls’ morning filled with laughter, tears, and love.
One of my favourite photos from this part of the day is of Hailey’s mom (Sloane’s grandma) tearing up while Hailey helps her daughter get dressed. It’s a generational moment that feels both intimate and timeless, the kind of photograph that will be cherished forever.
Hailey looked absolutely radiant. Her modern, Grecian-inspired gown gave her a regal elegance, perfectly complemented by her hair and makeup team’s soft, romantic styling.
Down the hall, the groom and his groomsmen adjusted ties and cufflinks. They were the perfect balance of calm confidence and fun loving camaraderie before the big moment. You could feel that pre-wedding anticipation in the air.
Throughout it all their daughter Sloane was at the heart of it. From the moment she slipped on her red shoes to match her mom’s iconic Christian Louboutin heels, it was clear this day wasn’t just about two people saying “I do,” it was about celebrating the legacy of a family built on love.
The First Look & Private Vows: A Moment Meant for Three
Before the ceremony began, the couple chose to share a private first look, joined by their daughter, at a beautiful European-style courtyard near the hotel. My Victoria BC wedding photographer team had scouted the location a week earlier and it turned out to be the perfect setting for their classy, timeless vision.
But what made the moment unforgettable was the way they included their daughter. Sloane pointed excitedly, saying, “Look at Mom! Look at Mom!” before they exchanged private vows and shared quiet family time together. The resulting photos of the three of them walking hand-in-hand, laughing and cuddling, are some of my favourites from the entire day. And remind me why I love working as a team! We captured this moment from all angles so the couple can truly relive all the emotions for years to come.
Nick had been so focused on making the day special for Hailey, but as he turned around to see his bride for the first time, he instantly started crying. It was one of those moments that reminds you what weddings are really about. Emotion filled the air as Hailey’s sleek gown from Shades of White Bridal, with its elegant draping and dramatic train, took his breath away.
It wasn’t just a first look, it was a glimpse into their family’s story. The laughter, the tears, and the quiet exchange of smiles said everything words couldn’t. These are the kinds of moments we live to capture: where love and legacy intertwine.
Afterward, they took time for portraits surrounded by greenery, the three of them together, the parents sharing a private kiss while their daughter watch nearby. Each image felt cinematic, like a scene from a film that tells not just a love story, but a family story.
A Romantic Outdoor Ceremony Surrounded by greenery at Olympic View
The ceremony took place at Olympic View Golf Club, a classic Vancouver Island wedding venue surrounded by lush greens and mountain views. The clouds created the most beautiful soft light, eliminating the green tint that can sometimes happen on golf courses. The result was a clean, high-end look that felt editorial.
The ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion. This couple was always smiling and having fun! Parents wiped away tears as Hailey and Nick locked eyes, and their first kiss was as sweet as it was cinematic. Their energy was contagious as everyone looked on during the ceremony, filled with the love they shared. It was one of those rare, unforgettable moments where every element — emotion, light, and connection — aligned perfectly.
One of my favourite photos from this part of the day shows them smiling nose-to-nose, finally realizing they’re married.
After the walk down the aisle, guests surrounded them with cheers and hugs. The air was electric with happiness, exactly what a Victoria BC wedding should feel like.
Wedding Party Adventures Among the Greens
Once family photos were complete (we always keep them efficient so couples can actually enjoy their day), we loaded up the golf carts and explored for portraits. The wedding party, dressed in timeless black, brought the perfect blend of sophistication and joy to every frame.
We started with Hailey and her bridesmaids, lots of laughter, movement, and individual shots with each of her girls. Then it was Nick’s turn with his groomsmen, which is when the unexpected happened: the bridesmaids Smirnoff Iced the guys!
Hailey had hidden the drinks under her dress, and when the groomsmen walked down a hill, she revealed them. Everyone burst out laughing as the guys took a knee for an impromptu toast. It made for hilarious, candid photos that perfectly balanced the otherwise editorial look of their wedding.
From there, we shifted to sleek, Italian-inspired portraits of the full wedding party, mixing timeless and serious shots with joyful, movement-filled moments.
Before heading to the reception, we captured Hailey in her long veil, ethereal, elegant, and absolutely Vogue-worthy, and romantic couple portraits by the waterfall. Nick carried Hailey as she kicked her Louboutin heels in the air, red soles catching the light as they shared a quiet moment before the celebration continued. These are the photographs that couples will hold close for generations.
An Elegant Reception at Olympic View Golf Course
The reception took place in Olympic View’s elegant dining hall, a modern space styled with candles, sleek décor, and a black-and-white checkered dance floor. Guests sipped cocktails while the anticipation built for the couple’s entrance.
When Hailey and Nick finally arrived, they made sure it was unforgettable: champagne in hand, they popped the bottles and sprayed them toward their cheering guests! It was wild, fun, and perfectly them.
The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, joyful laughter, and the kind of moments that define a lifetime. Hailey’s parents, Nick’s dad, and their closest friends spoke with so much love. A favourite photo from this part of the night shows Hailey leaning back into Nick’s shoulder, a tear slowly rolling down her cheek as she listens to her friends speak about their love. It’s cinematic and emotional, everything I love about wedding storytelling.
Then came the party and what a party it was. Guests lifted Nick onto a chair, dancing and cheering, then did the same with Hailey. And then came that photograph – Hailey raised in the air on a chair, laughing with a dance floor light in one hand, her red-soled Louboutins heels kicking out on full display, surrounded by cheering guests. It perfectly summed up this perfect Victoria BC wedding: elegant, emotional, and so much fun.
