This beach wedding in Victoria was stunning and such a fun day with Jessica and Jordan! From the first look to the reception, everything about this day was perfect. Jessica and Jordan are truly such an amazing couple and I’m so grateful that I got to be a part of their beautiful wedding. Their venue was the Beach house Restaurant in Victoria, BC. It had the most epic ocean views and was the perfect backdrop for their beach wedding ceremony!
Beach Wedding in Victoria, BC

The First Look
As a lover of first looks at weddings, I was so excited that Jessica and Jordan wanted to add this into their wedding timeline. There’s just something so special about that moment when the bride and groom see each other for the first time when no one else is around.
We found a beautiful private beach to capture this special moment. The sun was shining perfectly on them as they read their vows to each other. And of course lots of tears were shed from both Jessica and Jordan. These are the moments that truly make me so grateful that this is my job. As they were reading their vows to each other I was running around them using two different cameras to make sure that I got a LOT of photos. I got lots of closeups and far away shots that showed off the ocean, the driftwood, and the greenery behind them.
A Special Surprise
Another thing that made this first look super special for these two was that Jordan surprised Jessica with an engraved necklace. So a month or so before the wedding, I asked each of them what their love language was. Jessica had mentioned that hers was receiving gifts so I mentioned to Jordan that it would be really special if he could surprise her with something at the first look. He did exactly that and it made the private moment before the ceremony that much more special for the two of them.

A Memorable Beach Wedding Ceremony
After the first look, we headed up to the Beach house Venue to get these two married! But wow, where do I even begin with this ceremony? There were so many special moments that made this beach wedding ceremony unforgettable. One of my favorite moments was when they had the cute little flower girls and ring bearers head down the aisle. The flower girl actually just dumped the basket of flowers at the end of the aisle. It was such a cute moment and got a little chuckle out of everyone.
As Jessica walked down the aisle, you could see Jordan trying to fight back the tears. One of the reasons that so many people opt out of doing a first look is that they feel they won’t be as emotional during the ceremony. I definitely disagree. Although Jordan and Jessica shared a first look, there is just something special about that moment as you see your future spouse walking down the aisle. A first look doesn’t take away from the ceremony at all, if anything I would say it helps you shake off some nerves.
This beach wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful and the first kiss was actually pretty funny. Jordan didn’t know when to go in for the kiss because the officiant didn’t say “you may kiss the bride.” Jessica stood there waiting for him to kiss her and when he finally did they were both just laughing a ton. Then they raised their hands and headed back down the aisle officially as husband and wife.

After everyone congratulated Jessica and Jordan, I stole them away to capture some more portraits. Some of my favorite photos from the day are the ones under the veil and let me just say they are stunning!

Time to Capture Some Wedding Party Photos on the Beach!
Once we finished up with some portraits of just Jessica and Jordan it was time for the wedding party photos. I feel like wedding party photos are always something people dread at their wedding. People usually would rather be getting the party started instead lol. But, from years of experience, I truly can say that I think I have mastered making group photos fun.
With this specific wedding party I encouraged them to grab their drinks and I gave them some fun prompts. We had a ton of laughs while taking the photos. And just like most of my weddings, I was so focused on getting the perfect shot that I walked backwards and tripped over a log. Not my finest moment but definitely worth it for the perfect picture.

Party Time!
As soon as I met this bride and groom I knew that their wedding was going to be a good time! We started off the reception with all the bridesmaids and groomsmen making their dancing entrances then came the newlyweds. They immediately went into their first dance which was so special.
Coincidentally, one of the guests’ chairs happened to break right in the middle of their first dance and he tried to play it cool by just staying on the ground. Everyone had a good laugh and it was definitely a moment I will never forget.

The rest of the night Jessica and Jordan just spent their time mingling, laughing, and just enjoying the best day of their life. Capturing the candid moments during the reception were some of my favorite photos to take because you could really see the genuine joy that everyone felt.

The perfect ending to this beautiful beach wedding!
Let me just say this beach wedding was the perfect day! As a wedding photographer, nothing makes me happier than seeing the bride and groom truly having a good time. To end this amazing wedding, I took Jessica and Jordan up to a private balcony for some romantic last shots. It was truly a magical way to end the night!
