Wedding Photography at Haig Brown House In Campbell River, BC

Davis and Carrie’s Wedding was one for the books! I absolutely loved doing the Wedding Photography for their day! The day started off with the ladies getting ready together. Of course, Mimosas were necessary followed by a stunning ‘first look’ with the bridesmaids. At the same time, the groomsmen were getting ready at a separate house. Sometimes a Wedding Photographer has to go to different locations to get these moments captured! I started photographing the men getting ready since often times this happens quicker than the ladies. BUT there were so many guys, and they were having such a good time that I needed almost 45 minutes with them in order to properly capture their morning.

I love wedding photography during the ‘getting ready’ phase. The laughter from the groomsmen, some of them being comfortable enough to be in their underwear for the first half. The smiles and excitement from the bridesmaids when they see their best friend in her dress for the first time. The look on each parents’ face when the wedding day gets real, like ‘oh this is really happening’ real.

When Carrie and Davis finally saw each other, it was in front of their family and friends at their Haig Brown House Wedding Venue. They each walked down the aisle with both of their parents which I loved! This location was ideal for a wedding ceremony. There is a beautiful willow tree at the ceremony location, and a river to take photos at afterward.

Wedding Photography of the Wedding Party

The Wedding Ceremony was done by Craig Gillis, one of the OG’s of officiating weddings on Vancouver Island, and mostly in Campbell River or Quadra. He is efficient and always makes the ceremony entertaining to be a part of.

When the Wedding Ceremony was done, naturally as the Wedding Photographer, I took the groomsmen, bridesmaids and newly weds for some photos together. They were anything but ordinary. The Wedding Photos were filled with laughter and excitement which I think you’ll be able to feel when you look at them!

One of my all time favourite photos is Carrie and Davis walking through the ‘tunnel’ that their friends made. This is a must have addition to my repertuar of prompts and poses on wedding days.

Wedding Photography of the Reception

Ahh, it was finally time to head back for some much needed family and friend time. These two had a backyard reception with the most delicious food I’ve ever had. Their table decor was person and stunning, while the speeches were out of this world funny.

As you can see, a ton of laughter yet again. The wedding photography from this day is so light, airy, bright, exciting and just really filled with joy. Hopefully you can feel what it was like to be there. I know I had a fantastic time. Did anyone stop smiling all day? I truly don’t think so. Well, besides when there were tears.
